Lila Peters showed that she was very talented on the track last fall running 11:21 winning the NCHSAA 4A Mideast regional in the 3200. Peters came on strong at the end of the 2016 XC season, her first year running for Sanderson. Peters took 12th at the 4A Mideast regional in XC running 19:27 but was only 64th at the state meet. But Peters was outstanding on the track only losing one 3200 in 7 attempts and that was an 8th place finish at the state meet. With Peters first year running being last year, I think she has the capability to explode this XC season and is certainly better than her current XC PR.
