#3 Sloan Walter
Sloan Walter is the top underclassman in our rankings and is a monster in cross country after running 18:05 last fall taking 8th at NXN Southeast and 4th overall at the 4A State Championships. Walter looked great at Wake County Kickoff two weeks ago running 9 seconds faster in the 3K then last season at 10:55. Walter also holds PRs on the track of 5:13 and 10:55. Walter was 4th at the outdoor state championships in the 3200 last fall, but was great throughout the season running 11:00 through 11:07 over 6 races in the event. I think Walter is best on the cross country course than on the track and could very well come in at #1 in these preseason rankings.
