It was a historic year in North Carolina. State champions were crowned, state and national records were broken. This might have been the best year all-around in state history. Seriously.
We wanted to thank everyone involved in making it happen, from the athletes, to the coaches, meet directors, parents, administrators, the parks, the timers, the NCHSAA, the NCISAA, and especially our hard-working photographers and videographers! We've seen some special performances this year, and it takes this community to make it possible.
There are a few superlatives that we wanted to give out, including but not limited to, moment of the year, most improved athlete, and, of course, State MVP's. These awards count for the whole 2022-23 school year, so performances across cross country, indoor and outdoor track and field were all considered.
While summer training heats up for cross country, USATF U20's is going on this weekend, and the AAU National Championships is coming at the end of July into the first week of August.
