It was a historic year in North Carolina. State champions were crowned, state records were broken, and even one national record went down during indoor season. With COVID-seasons in the rear-view window, it was spectacular to be able to get back into a normal schedule with all of our favorite cross country and track and field invitationals returning.
We wanted to thank everyone involved in making it happen, from the athletes, to the coaches, meet directors, parents, administrators, the parks, the timers, the NCHSAA, the NCISAA, and more! We've seen some special performances this year, and it takes this community to make it possible.
There are a few superlatives that we wanted to give out, including but not limited to, moment of the year, most improved runner, and, of course, MVP.
While summer training heats up for cross country, AAU season is still hot on the track with the AAU National Championships coming at the end of July into the first week of August.
