Entry Information:

There is a maximum entry of seven individuals per gender per school.

Entry Deadline: Friday, October 21st at 9:00 p.m.

The NCHSAA will now allow late entries to be made. If you do NOT enter by the entry deadline you have until 3:00 p.m. on Monday, October 24th to email Rhonda Dreibelis(NCHSAA Sport Contact for Cross Country) your entries rhonda@nchsaa.org.

Substitutions: Substitutions are allowed the day of the race but MUST be made during the coaches meeting.Substitutions are NOT allowed following the coaches meeting. I will have a substitution form available in each packet if you need to make substitutions the day of the race. Substitution forms will need to be given to J.J. Knox(Timing Results) at the conclusion of the coaches meeting.

Meet Schedule:

Facility Opens at 10:00 a.m.

Coaches Meeting at 10:30 a.m.

Men's Race- 11:30 a.m.

Women's Race- 12:00 p.m.

Awards Ceremony- 12:45 p.m.

Men NEED to be on the starting line by 11:15 a.m.

Women NEED to be on the starting line by 11:45 a.m.

Spectator Admission & Parking: FREE

Packet Pick Up:There will be a tent set up for packets as you enter the park similar to the Adidas and Great American Meets.

Bus Parking:Buses will park at the Soccer Stadium.

Buses are NOT to turn left once inside the park to drop student-athletes and equipment off then go back and park at the Stadium. Student-athletes will have to walk from the stadium along the sidewalk to the starting area.

Restrooms:There will be port-a-potties for use. The restrooms at the stadium are normally open.

Soccer Stadium and Soccer Fields:The Soccer Stadium and Soccer Fields are OFF Limits to Student-Athletes, Coaches and Spectators. If you are caught in the stadium and/or on the soccer fields you will be asked to leave the park.

Tents:There will be a designated area to set up team tents, tents MUST be staked down.

Bibs: In your packets there will be a piece of paper, which has your student-athletes and corresponding bib number.Please double check the bib number they are wearing matches the bib number on the Sheet.Per the Rule Book Page 65 Rule 8-3 Art 3. Penalty- A competitor not wearing the assigned contestant number and/or computerized transponders/chips or altering such items in a manner which interferes with the recording of place finish is a rule violation resulting in disqualification from the race.

Qualifiers to State: The top twenty-five percent(25%) of teams, or top four teams, whichever is greater, in each classification from each regional will qualify for the state meet.

(1)Team scores will be based on a schools five best performers

(2) Number of qualifying teams from each regional will be determined by the number of full teams(5 or more athletes) on the starting line

(3)In addition, the top seven individuals not on a qualifying team will advance from each regional to the state.

(4) A school that qualifies a team may bring any seven eligible competitors to the state meet; however, there may be no substitutes among those who qualify as individuals.

(5) If a school does not finish in the top 25% but qualifies at least 5 individuals, that school will also be scored as a team for the state championship meet.

Awards: Regional champion and runner-up team plaques and awards for the top three individual finishers will be given

Team Scores: Team points will be decided by the position each runner attains against other teams, not including individual runners.

(1)Individuals get credit for their finishes, but places are not counted against team scores.

State Meet Championships Tee-Shirts: If your team qualifies for the State Championships and you want to substitute a runner in your Top7, for their name to be on the State Meet Tee-Shirt you need to email Rodney King(State Meet Director) rodneyking@mcacademy.com by Monday, October 31st 2022.
