Raleigh Relays Brings Four New State Leads

Boys adidas Dream Mile Qualifier
Like the girls, a victory would qualify them for the High School Dream Mile at the Boston Boost Games later this season. Off the gun Theo Woods (E.C. Glass, VA) bolted out to the front but the field did not let him gain any kind serious lead. Woods led the tight knit pack through the quarter mile mark at 1:04 with Nick Scudder (Millbrook), Anton Idhammar (Cary), Kyle Durham (Weddington), Jackson Martin (Cary), and Kyle Lund (Oakdale, MD) all within a second of him. Over the course of the second lap Scudder took over the lead from Woods and those two plus Durham and Idhammar began to distance themselves from the chase pack. All four runners passed the halfway point in 2:08. Theo Woods began to fade away during the third lap as Durham and Scudder pushed the pace. Durham hit bell lap in 3:13. Anton Idhammar managed to hang with the leaders and with 200 meters to go he decided it was his time to push. Idhammar roared down the homestretch and took the victory in 4:15.90! Kyle Durham finished 2nd in 4:18.47, Kyle Lund took 3rd in 4:18.83 with a huge final lap!
