--Awarded separately--Effective Birthday 12-31-21High school races are open to all U.S. high school students (male and female, grades 9-12) who will have not reached his/her 19th birthday before August 1, 2022.
Runners compete in the races as unattached individuals.The state where a runner resides determines in which regional meet he/she must participate. Runners must participate in the region to which their state has been assigned. Boarding school students must compete in the region of their school location. Non U.S. citizens who attend high school in the U.S. and who meet the age requirement may compete. Home-schooled students may compete in the region of their residence during the school year.Any runner, whether they are in a public school, home school, boarding school, private school or independent school, must run in the high school Championship Race in order to qualify for the National Finals in San Diego. The top ten (10) finishers in the high school Championship Races will qualify for the National Championship on December 10, 2022 in San Diego, CA.A runner can run in any race they are eligible for.

Packet Pickup/Check-In

Runners may pick up their race packets and Champs Sports Cross Country TShirt from noon - 5 pm on Friday at the Chris Hertel Stage at the McAlpine Course. Packets and TShirts will be available Saturday starting at 7 am at the course. Runners are reminded to leave enough time prior to their race to pick up the packet and get to the starting line.
