Welcome to the 2022 Great American XC Festival, Presented by Garmin!
We are excited to again be able to host the Great American XC Festival, Presented by GarminatWakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, N.C. on Saturday, October 1, 2022!
MEET INFORMATION
The Greater Raleigh Sports Alliance, the National Scholastic Athletics Foundation (NSAF), along with the support of Garmin and Nike are excited for the opportunity to host the 2022 Great American XC Festival.
Bring your entire team and join us for an exciting morning of races at the Wake Med cross-country course in Cary NC, there is a race for your entire team. We will kick off the exciting morning of races with the HBCU Cedric Walker Challenge and the highlight of high school races is sure to be the boys and girls Race of Champions, both Presented by Nike
**Our event will be NFHS sanctioned.** All teams and individuals must represent his/her high school and be in good standing with the National Federation of State High School Association.

What High Schools can compete?
This meet will be sanctioned with a NFHS sanction. All HS team that are teams that are NFHS member high schools are welcome to attend. Teams will register using their school affiliation and must compete representing their respective high school. Races are open to all high school teams regardless of location.

Entry Fees:
$140.00 per team of up to 10 athletes
$45.00 per individual athlete
$350.00 bulk fee per school

9:00 AM - HBCU Challenge - Mens 8K
9:40 AM - HBCU Challenge - Womens 5k
10:10 AM - Invitational Blue Race - Boys
10:35 AM - Invitational Blue Race - Girls
11:05 AM -Race of Champions - Boys
11:30 AM - Race of Champions - Girls
12:00 PM - Invitational Red Race - Boys
12:25 AM - Invitational Red Race - Girls
12:55 AM - JV - Boys
1:20 PM - JV Girls
Race Selection
*All races are 5k with the exception of the HBCU Men race.
*The boys and girls Race of Champions will be limited to the top 28-32 teams that register for this race and will be determined by our selection committee. We will also allow 30-40 individuals in the ROC. Teams register but are not selected for these championship races, will be moved to the Open Blue race.
*Coach can enter up to 10 athletes in the ROC, Open Blue, and Open Red.
*The JV section will be unlimited entries but we will score each teams top 5 finishers with 2 pushers. We will not have multiple team designations within this section.
Awards Ceremonies
Awards ceremonies will take place approximately 15 minutes following the conclusion of each race at the awards area.
JV Races
Trophy to team champion in the boys and girls race
Medals will be awarded to the top 10 finishers
Top finisher t-shirts to top 10 individuals
Blue Open Races
Trophy to team champion in the boys and girls race
Medals will be awarded to the top 10 finishers
Top finisher tees to top 10 individuals
Red Open Race
Trophy to team champion in the boys and girls race
Medals will be awarded to the top 10 finishers

Race of Champions
Trophy to top team champions and runner-up in each ROC section
Medals will be awarded to the top 10 finishers

Packet Pick-up:
**ALL PACKETS WILL BE DISTRIBUTED ON SITE AT WAKE MED SOCCER PARK.

Retail Sales:
Nike apparel will be for sale on course run thru day and meet day.

Bib Number/Timing Chip:
Timing chips will be assigned to each athlete that will correspond to his/her bib number. Chips will be collected in the finish corral. Athletes must wear assigned bib number.
Box Assignments:
Box number assignments will be included in the packets and will be available at check in. They will also be available at NationalScholastic.org.
Results:
Results will be available on RunnerSpace.com, AthleticNET and NationalScholastic.org
Spectator Admission:
Admission is free, parking is $10.00, CASH ONLY, per vehicle entering the park.

Beverage:
Bottles of Gatorade and water will be available to athletes on site.
Medical
Certified trainers will be on site at all times when the course is open.
Lost and Found:
Any lost and found items can be picked up at the packet pick up area at the course.
