3. Lauren Tolbert Takes 3rd in 400m with NC #5 All-Time Mark
Lauren Tolbert (Highland Tech) may have the most range we have seen in North Carolina history. The defending NCHSAA 1A XC State Champion wanted to make sure it was well known she did not lose any of her track speed. After a 55.44 performance in the prelims, Tolbert was destined to break 54.00 in the finals. And that she did. Tolbert ran 54.81 and took the bronze medal.
