This Week's Nominees:
Morgan Goode, Parkland Magnet IB (North Carolina): Won both sprint events at the NCHSAA 7A Central-West Super Regional, clocking 11.43 in the 100 and 23.87 in the 200. The #2 junior in the state in the 100 and top junior in the 200, she dominated fields of 31 and 24 runners respectively.
Promise Lovelace, Statesville (North Carolina): Swept both throws at the NCHSAA 6A West Regional with marks of 46-10 in the shot put and 144-5 in the discus. Posted the top shot put mark of the week among 96 competitors and third-best discus throw among 92 throwers.
Sebla Miracle, Asheville (North Carolina): Turned in a week-leading triple jump of 41-2 to win at the NCHSAA 6A West Regional, clearing the field by over two feet. Added a second-place finish in the long jump at 18-4.
Maddison Davis, Atkins (North Carolina): The top junior thrower in North Carolina in both events, she won the discus and shot put at the NCHSAA 5A Central Regional. Her discus mark of 153-5 led all competitors this week, while her 43-2.5 shot put ranked third among 96 throwers.
Selah Edwards, Southeast Raleigh (North Carolina): Ran 13.77 to win the 100m hurdles at the NCHSAA 7A East Regional, posting the fastest time of the week among 106 hurdlers statewide.
