Highlights

• Providence Day won both 3A team titles, edging Charlotte Latin in girls' competition while winning by 50 in the boys' race.

• Ben Huffman led a 1-2-4 performance up front by Providence Day in the 3A Boys race, with Nick Linder and Jack Paddison both running under 15:45.

• Eliza Dekker (Durham Academy) won her 3rd straight 3A Girls individual title, clocking the best time of the day with her 18:05.  Emma Astrike-Davis (Cary Academy) had a very strong race for second place.

• Grace Christian (Raleigh) claimed their third straight team title, the first 2A boys team to achieve that, while Asheville Christian took home the girls championship.  The Epiphany School boys and the Fayetteville Academy girls finished in 2nd place.

• Ralene Kwiatkowski (Carolina Day) won the 2A Girls race in her first season of 5K competition, turning in a fine time of 18:51 while defeating Lake Hoard (Epiphany), last year's 1A Girls champion.

• Alex Dolwick (Grace Christian) was the Boys 2A individual winner, displaying the enthusiasm shared by his entire team.  Brian Whyms (Northside Christian) was the runner-up.

• Hickory Christian Academy claimed both the 1A team championships, the third in a row for the boys and second for the girls.  Shannon Forest (a South Carolina school that competes in the NCISAA) earned both runner-up trophies.

• Kayla Holder (Kerr-Vance Academy) ran solo the entire race in the 1A Girls, posting a stunning PR of 18:38 to win by three minutes.

• Connor Jones (Wayne Christian) won his third consecutive 1A Boys title, defeating Andrew Tysinger (Hickory Christian).
