Invite 60m Hurdles
On the girls side, Sierra Fletcher (Southeast Raleigh) comes in fresh off a 55m Dash PR and US#4 mark of 7.95 at the VA Showcase. Last year at Nationals Fletcher ran a 60m Hurdle best of 8.53 which held a 7.93 55m Dash en route mark. Last weeks performance shows Fletcher is ready to improve on her 60m PR this weekend.
Fletcher will be a heavy favorite, but she'll have Zariyah Black (Platinum Sports/Eastern Guilford) and Alexis Patterson (Parkland) looking to take her down. Patterson sits at US#17 with a 8.13 55m Hurdle PR and Black holds a 60m Hurdle PR from earlier this year of 8.73 which is currently US#13. Sydney Clemons (Platinum Sports) and Falon Spearman (Providence Day) will be two others to keep an eye on for a big performance on Saturday.
On the boys side Josh Brockman (Unattached, NC) will be the favorite after running a US#1 60m Hurdle of 7.85 and then a US#2 55m Hurdle at the VA Showcase last weekend. Myles Marshall (Lassiter, GA) ran a US#6 time of 7.94 racing against Brockman at USC two weeks ago and will be ready for the rematch this weekend. Braydon Bennett (Elite Moves TC, SC) took 4th in that race at 7.99, currently US#9. Brevin Sims (Chatt. School for the Arts, TN) has put together a strong indoor season and will look to take down his 8.03 60m Hurdle PR. This should be one of the deepest hurdle fields in Mondo Elite history.
