Boys 3A Race
Karl Thiessen (Abingdon, VA) comes in with the second fastest boys PR in the meet, and I hate that we won't see him head to head with Tatter and Ponder in the Invitational race. Last year Thiessen dominated this race with the fastest time of the day clocking 15:37. Thiessen has already run a new PR of 15:09 this fall and should be a heavy favorite tomorrow. He'll go up against two North Carolina boys that have been having breakout senior years in Laderique McNeill (Harnett Central) and Brandon Hernandez (A.L. Brown) who have both run 15:43 this year. Also Brian Risse (North Lincoln) and Hunter White (North Henderson) will also be in contention up front looking to break 16 for the first time this year. Keep an eye on Haven Honeycutt (Asheville) who has run 16:29 this year, but has the best 3200 PRs in the field of 9:18 on the track.
The team battle looks to be tight between St. Josephs, North Lincoln, Abingdon (VA), Westminster (GA) and North Henderson and it should be anyone's for the taking. St. Joseph's looks to be the favorites with 102 points in our virtual meet, but keep an eye on North Lincoln.
