Huge Team & Individual Battles To Take Place At Wendy's Tomorrow

Girls 3A Race

Ava Dobson (St. Josephs, SC) has come out of no where this fall in her first cross country season breaking 18 twice with a PR of 17:54.  Dobson hasn't run track before either and has been an instant success in the sport.  She comes in as the favorite, but will be challenged by Izzy Evely and Mariah Howlett (Lake Norman Charter).  Evely has clocked 18:31 on this course already this season and Howlett holds a PR of 18:21 and is expected to make her season debut this weekend after a stellar junior year on the track.  Anna Bristle (Parkwood) has run 18:39 this season as well and should be in the mix up front with these girls along with Jaeden Phelix (Piedmont) and Chandler Mccaslin (North Lincoln).

St. Josephs comes in as the favorites scoring 68 points in the virtual meet, but will be challenged by Piedmont and North Lincoln.  This race is going to be huge for the NCHSAA 2A Team title this fall as 4 of the favorites in North Lincoln, Carrboro, Brevard and Lake Norman Charter are all in this field.  At least 7 schools have a shot at the 2A team title this fall and it's going to be exciting to see four of the favorites head to head this weekend.
