North Carolina Future Stars: Eastern Wayne's Rahkeem Faison

Presenting our newest feature: The Future Stars Series. In this series, we'll take a look at one freshman or sophomore a week that is making a big impact early in their career, and is showing that they are a star in the making.

Eastern Wayne and NC Flight Club freshman Rahkeem Faison is this week's North Carolina Future Star!

Faison just wrapped up his freshman indoor campaign, and did not hold back at the end. He made the trip last weekend up to Virginia Beach for the adidas Indoor National Championship where he competed in the freshman 60m and freshman 200m dashes.

In the 60m dash prelims, he led the field clocking 7.07. It was not until the finals, however, the Faison really got the gears turning. He shot out of the blocks in the finals and never made it a question who the top freshman was. He tied his lifetime best of 7.02 which is NC Frosh T-No. 4 all-time.

He doubled back in the 200m where he finished runner-up, clocking 22.56, just off his personal best.

During the NCHSAA Indoor season he was 4th in the NCHSAA 1A/2A 55m dash and 6th in the 300m dash.

In 2021 he won the middle school rising stars 60m dash at adidas Indoor Nationals.
