Weddington senior Emma Jones comes in at No. 10 on the NCRunners cross country pre-season countdown!
Jones took home 3rd place in both the 1600m and 3200m at the 2021 NCHSAA 3A state meet. She won the NCHSAA 3A Midwest 3200m crown and was runner-up in the 1600m.
She was NC No. 5 last season in the 3200m running 10:42 and was NC No. 12 in the 1600m clocking 5:01.
Her personal best in the 5000m, 18:22, was NC No. 16 last season, but after her huge 3200m personal best I think she can crack that 18:00 barrier this season.
On the track this past season she clocked 17:27 for 5000m for a huge personal best.
Jones proved during track season she is a high-level racer, but will her success on the track transfer over to the cross country course?
