With five returning Sub 20:00 girls in the 1A division we will see a tight fight to the finish come State Meet time. Lauren Tolbert (Highland Tech) is the top returner and has been a dominate force in the short-to-mid-distance on the track. She has finished 2nd and 3rd at the 1A State Meet the last two seasons, so she'll be hungry for a title on the XC course. Her teammate Lauren Romines (Highland Tech) is going to be pushing for that title as well. The duo will go head-to-head against the duo from Research Triangle. McCarty Hudson is the #2 returner and Victoria Swepson is #4. Swepson, like Tolbert, has had most of her success on the track, but is gunning for a podium finish for her and her team. Hazel Pasley (Allghany) is the #5 returner and the last Sub 20:00 runner.
