North Carolina Girls Cross Country Performer of the Week (Aug. 31-Sep. 6)

After another week of cross-country racing in North Carolina, it's time to vote for the MileSplit North Carolina girls' cross-country performer of the week.

This Week's Nominees:

Aimery Coffey, Lake Norman Charter School (North Carolina): A 19:04.30 clocking for 5K carried the win at the 2026 Pfeiffer University Cross Country Invitational by 46.9 seconds over the field of 133 finishers. It also marked an improvement of 17.7 seconds over a prior mark on this course, and it now stands as the No. 2 time in MileSplit's database at this course since 2019.

Gabriella Holliday, Gray's Creek (North Carolina): Racing at Tri County Meet 2 @ Cape Fear, a 20:21.31 for 5K was good for the win, with a gap of 111.3 seconds back to the next finisher among 39 runners. That time now ranks No. 2 in MileSplit's database at this course since 2022.

Laurel Bernhardt, Randleman (North Carolina): Covering 5K in 22:01.00 was good for first among 29 finishers at Pac 7 @MCHS, with 51.0 seconds separating first from second. The performance stands as the fastest in MileSplit's database at Montgomery Central Track since 2025, a span covering 21 athletes.

Ava Redies, Wilkes Central (North Carolina): First place at the MVAC Pre-Conference Meet came in 20:17.00 for 5K, well clear of the 30-runner field by 102.0 seconds. The time edged a prior mark on this course by 3.9 seconds and sits at No. 5 of 122 athletes in MileSplit's database at the West Wilkes XC Course since 2019.

Amelia Medlin, Hoggard (North Carolina): Just 4.0 seconds decided the win at CCC Cross Country-North Brunswick, where an 18:19.90 5K topped a field of 61 finishers. That time ranks No. 3 of 365 athletes in MileSplit's database at Northwest Park since 2019.
