2A Midwest Girls

Individual Battle

North Lincoln's Alyssa Galvin and Angie Allen form a formidable top two, and will also contend with each other for the top two in the entire race. There are three other sub-20 girls in the field, but Michaela Gammon of East Lincoln is the only other sub 19:30 runner, and has the best shot of getting up with the North Lincoln girls.

Abby Farris of Lake Norman Charter and Erin Duke of West Stokes round out the top 5. There are 11 more runners behind them have broken 21 this season, and all could be in the mix on Saturday.

Team Battle

North Lincoln has the obvious low stick advantage with a powerful 1-2, but Lake Norman Charter also has four runners in the top 15, and by far the best 6-7 in the field, who could move up to potentially displace North Lincolns five if they have a good day. While the edge goes to North Lincoln, Lake Norman Charter always shows up in the postseason and will make this go down to the wire either way.

East Lincoln has Gammon and a top five that are all in the top 30, but it would take a lot for them to bridge the gap up to North Lincoln and Lake Norman Charter. Next up is West Stanly, who should have five ahead of South Rowan's four to secure the fourth spot.
