Allie Zealand - Pacers Home School, Virginia
Zealand was runner-up at RunningLane Track Championships in the 3,200m last spring, where she ran a personal best of 10:15.00. At the same meet, she ran 4:45.17 for the 1-mile run. This fall, she was 3rd at the NCRunners Elite XC Invitational and clocked a season best of 17:49.37.
Logan St. John Kletter, Mount Lebanon, Pennsylvania
She won the PIAA District 7 WPIAL Championship and placed 10th at the PIAA 3A State Championship. She is the defending PTFCA Indoor State champion in the 1-mile run, where she ran 4:56.06. She has a cross country 5,000m personal best of 17:29.00 and an indoor 3,200m personal best of 10:31.09.
Chandler Welsh - R.J. Reynolds
The 3rd place finisher at the NCHSAA 4A State Championship, Welsh is looking to replicate her success on the course to the track. She ran a personal best of 17:44.70 at the adidas XC Challenge. Last spring, she went 10:46.43 for the 3,200m.
Justine Preisano - Cuthbertson
Preisano was runner-up in the 800m and 4th place in the 1,600m at the 2022 NCHSAA 4A Outdoor State Championship. She has personal best in those events of 2:12.76 and 4:56.62 (also went 4:55.67 for the full 1-mile. Her only 3,200m of the spring was a 10:49.88 at adidas Raleigh Relays.
Evans is coming off an 8th place finish at the NCHSAA 4A State Championship. At adidas XC, she ran a personal best of 17:52.40. Last spring, she was 3rd in the 3,200m at the state meet, where she ran a personal best of 10:50.95. She also went 5:09.95 for the 1-mile run.
Hannah Rae Shaffer - Cardinal Gibbons
The defending NCHSAA 4A Outdoor 3,200m champion is ready to take to the track. She ran a personal best of 10:32.33 at adidas Raleigh Relays. All four of her 3,200m's last spring (all wins, by the way) were under 10:38. She also ran 4:51.84 in the 1,600m last spring. During the 2021-22 Indoor season, she placed 3rd in the 1,600m and was runner-up in the 1,000m.
Claire Paci - Greencastle-Antrim, Pennsylvania
A Pennsylvania rivalry makes its way to North Carolina, and Paci will match-up with St. John Kletter again. Paci was 7th place at the PIAA AAA State Championship, and holds a personal best of 17:54.30 from the Carlisle Invitational. Last spring, she was runner-up in the 1,600m and 3,200m at the PIAA T&F State Championship. That day, she ran personal bests of 4:54.77 and 10:34.96 respectively.
Hanson has a personal best in the 3,200m of 10:58 from the RunningLane Track Championships. She was runner-up at the NCRunners Elite Tune-Up 1,600m, where she ran a best of 4:57.87. She also has a personal best in the 800m of 2:21.80.
The freshman is making her Lake Norman track debut, but she is no stranger to the 400 meter oval. In the spring, she won the NCRunners Middle School 800m (2:24.79) and was runner-up in the 1,600m (5:16.30). This fall, she was 7th at the NCHSAA 4A State Championship, and has a 5,000m personal best of 17:59.00 from the adidas XC Challenge.
Aycock is riding the momentum after winning her second NCISAA 3A State XC Championship. She ran a personal best of 18:00.00 at the MileStat.com XC Invitational. In the spring, she won the NCISAA DII 1,600m (4:58.99) and 3,200m (11:19.75) state titles. At the last Dash For Doobie, she was 12th in 10:47.65.
Zoe Arrington - Tennessee High School, Tennessee
The Kennesaw State commit is coming off winning the TSSAA Division 1 A-AA State Championship. On the track last spring, she was runner-up in both the 1,600m and 3,200m at the TSSAA State Championship. In 2021, she won the 3,200m state title. She has a 1,600m personal best of 4:56.94 and a 3,200m personal best of 10:41.33.
Annie Miller - Metrolina Christian Academy
Miller was runner-up at the NCISAA 4A State XC Championship a few weeks ago. She ran a personal best of 18:00.96 at Wilmington Beach Blast. She was runner-up in the 800m (2:18.84) at the NCISAA DI State Championship last spring. In her only 3,200m run of the season, she ran 11:57.01 to win the Spartan Outdoor Classic.
Ina Lazarczyk - Cardinal Gibbons
The CAP 6 cross country champion has track personal bests of 2:24.28 (800m) and 5:11.67 (1,600m). She was 10th in the 1,000m during the indoor track season. In fact, she has yet to officially race a 3,200m. She has a cross country personal best of 18:02.00 from the MileStat.com XC Invitational.
Madeleine Gear - Cambridge Christian, Florida
Gear was runner-up at the FHSAA 1A State Championship, She has a personal best of 18:04.20 from the FSU Invitational. On the track last spring, she was runner-up in the 3,200m and 5th in the 1,600m at the state meet. Her 3,200m personal best is 10:50.18.
The Toledo signee was 6th in the 3,200m at the NCHSAA 4A Outdoor State Championship. She ran a personal best of 10:49.62 at All American Track Classic, which she took 3rd. She also broke 5:00 for the 1-mile run, clocking 4:59.62. During the indoor season, she was 3rd at the state meet in the 3,200m.
Caroline Barton - Carolina Day School
Barton won the NCISAA 2A State XC Championship just a few weeks ago. During the state meet she ran a best of 18:28.30. She is also the defending 1,600m and 3,200m NCISAA DII State Champion. She has a personal best in the 1-mile of 5:03.51, and a best in the 2-mile of 10:59.00.
Katherine Hopkins - Lincolnton
Lincolnton finished her senior cross country season with a NCHSAA 2A state title. At adidas XC, she ran a personal best of 18:29.20. At the 2022 NCHSAA 2A Outdoor State Championship, she was runner-up in the 1,600m.
Kinlaw was 15th at the NCHSAA 4A State Championship this fall. She ran 18:29.07 to win the Guilford County Championship. She has personal bests on the track of 5:21 (1,600m) and 11:18.54 (3,200m). She did not run during the 2022 outdoor season.
Fassinger placed 13th at the NCHSAA 4A State Championship. She opened her cross country season with her personal best of 18:33.10. Last winter, she was a state meet qualifier in the 1,000m and 1,600m. She has a best of 5:08.56 in the 1-mile run.
Morgan Pennington - Trinity Academy of Raleigh
Pennington was runner-up to Barton at the NCISAA 2A State Championship. She ran a personal best of 18:33.70 at the event, as well. Pennington is also the defending 1,600m and 3,200m NCISAA DIII State Champion. She has bests of 5:08.33 (1,600m) and 11:24.77 (3,200m) to top it off.
Reese Bradbury - Blacksburg, Virginia
Bradbury finished 10 at the VHSL Class 4 State XC Championship. She ran 10:59.48 in the 3,200m last spring at the Dogwood Track Classic. She also clocked 4:57.73 for the 1,600m at Dogwood. At the outdoor state meet, she placed 4th in the 3,200m.
Anna Edwards - Calvary Baptist Day
Edwards was runner-up to Aycock at the NCISAA 3A State Meet. She ran a personal best of 18:41.50 at Hare & Hounds. At the 2022 NCISAA DII Outdoor State Championship, she placed 3rd in the 3,200m (11:38.92), 6th in the 1,600m and 7th in the 800m.
Martin finished 3rd at the NCHSAA 4A West Regional. If the race is close-knit, Martin may be the dark horse pick. She has a 2:15.98 800m personal best from 2021. This most recent spring, she placed 6th in both the 800m and 1,600m at the state championship.
Pasko ran a personal best of 18:24.60 to take 6th at the Union County Championship. She was 5th at the 2021-22 NCHSAA 4A Indoor State Championship in the 3,200m, where she ran 11:09.72.
