XC Top Ten Countdown: No. 9 Justine Preisano

Coming in at No. 9 on our pre-season countdown is Cuthbertson rising junior, Justine Preisano.

The younger Preisano sister really came into her own during her sophomore season, and proved she is one of the most talented runners in the state. She is coming off a NCHSAA 4A state meet where she earned two all-state finishes: 2nd in the 800m and 4th in the 1,600m.

Her 800m personal best of 2:12.76 ranked her NC No. 5 in the spring and her 4:56.62 in the 1,600m was NC No. 6. She was apart of both state record relays (4x800m and 4xMile) during the indoor nationals season.

Preisano's cross country personal best of 18:36 came during the NCHSAA 4A state meet, where she finished 17th to help her Cavalier squad capture a state title.

She has proven to be elite in the 800m and 1,600m races, but she only raced the 3,200m once during outdoor season, a 10:49.88 performance at Raleigh Relays which held on for NC No. 7 overall on the season.

During the 2022 NCHSAA 4A Indoor State Meet, Preisano finished 7th in the 3,200m.

As a junior, Justine's older sister Alyssa ran a season best time of 17:42 over 5,000m and 10:44 during indoor track. Will Justine step up and take down her sister's times? She will be a crucial part of this Cavalier squad as they go after yet another NCHSAA cross country state title.
