This week's rising star in North Carolina is Reagan freshman Tate Shore.
Shore has been very active this outdoor season, and has shown his range. He has a 800m personal best of 2:01.11, which is NC Frosh No. 6 this season. In the 1,600m he is currently NC Frosh No. 2 (4:28.38), and in the 3,200m he is NC Frosh No. 4 (9:55.02).
He was the top finishing freshman at the Mount Tabor Mile where he ran 4:33 for the full mile run.
His time in the mile is good for NC Frosh No. 15 all-time. He also became the 75th freshman in state history to dip under 10:00 in the 3,200m.
According to our records, Shore has the Reagan Freshman record in the 800, 1,600m, and 3,200m.
