North Carolina Future Stars: West Carteret's Tyler Collins

Presenting our newest feature: The Future Stars Series. In this series, we'll take a look at one freshman or sophomore a week that is making a big impact early in their career, and is showing that they are a star in the making.

West Carteret sophomore Tyler Collins is next up on our weekly North Carolina Future Stars feature! Collins is new to the sport, but that did not stop her from chasing all the glory at the NCHSAA 3A Indoor State Championship in the high jump.

Collins, who only started jumping this indoor season, has quickly established herself the next great jumper in the state. Coming from a dance background, she knew she'd have the strength to be an elite jumper, she just needed to nail the mechanics.

She was NC Sophomore T-No. 1 this indoor season and T-No. 2 overall, having cleared 5-6. She also sits US Sophomore T-No. 4 this season wit her 5-6. She entered 11 high jump competitions during indoor season, and walked away victorious in all of them!
