Ashbrook sophomore Camryn Massey is our featured future star of the week!
Massey is already one of the most established throwers in the state. She is the defending NCHSAA 3A Outdoor discus champion tossing a NC freshman No. 2 all-time mark of 140-9. Her toss is also No. 27 all-time for all grades in North Carolina and is a 3A state meet record!
The freshman outdoor state record is held by one of the newest inductees to the North Carolina Track and Field Hall of Fame, Kamorean Hayes.
She took home the wins in both discus and shot put at the NCHSAA 3A West Regional. Her personal best in shot put, 37-9.75, came from the regional meet.
She doubled back at the state meet last outdoor season in the shot put, taking third overall. Her PR in shot put is NC freshman No. 19 all-time.
