State Records That Could Fall This Outdoor Season

Girls High Jump

Only two girls in North Carolina history have jumped over 6 feet.  North Carolina has three girls with the possibility of doing so this season in Morgan Smalls (Panther Creek) who jumped 5-10.75 last year as a freshman, junior Addie Renner (Myers Park) who jumped 5-9.25 this indoor season, and senior Kenya Livingston who just took 2nd at indoor nationals and holds an outdoor PR of 5-10 from 2016.

Back in 1997 Adriane Sims jumped 6-1, and the record has stood since.  Patience Coleman jumped 6-0 as a sophomore and senior, but was never able to take down Sims record.

It's certainly a little ways away for all three of these girls, but when they all are jumping against each other it's hard to rule it out from happening over the next few years.  We also just saw Cary freshman Teonni Key clear 5-6.  And as a newcomer to the event she could compete with North Carolina's big three soon!
