The Cuthbertson girls program have shown exponential growth the past few years and this year will define them as a powerhouse distance program in North Carolina.  They return their entire top 7 that was 4th at the 3A State Championships last fall.  They will be lead by junior Sarah LaTour who had a breakout year in 2015 in both XC and backed it up on the track.  LaTour finished 2nd at the difficult 3A Midwest Regional last year but had a rough day at states where she finished 36th in the rough conditions.  But on the track LaTour had a huge day at outdoor states where she narrowly was held off by Anna Vess in the 3200 where she took 2nd in 11:20.  LaTour will contend for an individual state title at the end of this season.

Alexia Noch has been very consistent of Cuthbertson throughout her career, but has battle injuries on and off over the years.  She was 4th at Regionals and 19th at states last season.  Noch's sophomore year she finished 10th at states and was all-state finisher.  Noch seems to have been healthy throughout the track season running 5:24 and 11:25.  Her 11:25 was en route to a fifth place finish at the 3A State Championships.  Morgan Allison is coming off of a strong freshman season where she was 15th at the XC State Championships.  Allison ran 2:29 and 5:31 in her freshman campaign on the track.  Delaney Patterson, also a sophomore, ran similar times to Allison on the XC course and ran 12:04 for 3200 on the track.  Patterson seems to be one that prefers the longer distances and focus on the 3200 last spring.

Cuthbertson will have slew of girls pushing to be in the top 5 this season.  Tess Nicholas is a rising junior and is a 2 year varsity runner for the Cavaliers.  She ran 20:02 early last season, but struggled to stay near that form throughout the season.  They also return Maria Blaszyk who is a sophomore that only ran XC last year.  Blaszyk was not in the top 7 for Cuthbertson heading into regionals, but still had a strong season running 20:42.  Lauren Franklin returns as a top 7 girl as well and holds a PR of 20:57 on a tough Weddington course from her freshman season.  She was 61st at last years state championships.  They'll add Annalise Furr from the middle school program who has been dominant over Union County the last few years.  Speaking of the middle school program they'll add a strong class for 2021.  Furr is the only one of the list below that is heading to high school this year and she should impact the top 5 this season.  Their is no ceiling for this years squad at Cuthbertson and I think they are hungry to dethrone Chapel Hill this season.
