2015 3A State XC Meet Result - 5th

North Lincoln is a young team with a plethora of potential.  They will be lead by senior Austin Hilburn who has been their top guy for the past two years.  He has flirted with breaking the 16 minute mark since his sophomore year and this year should certainly be the year he breaks it.  Hilburn returns as the 7th place finisher from the 2015 3A State XC Meet.

Looking at what they lost last from last years team in Akers, Lineberger, and Jones being top 5 runners consistently you would think this would be an off year for North Lincoln.  But the Risse twins had an amazing freshman track season.  Brian Risse ran 4:29 and was the top distance guy for North Lincoln most of the outdoor season.  Jason Risse was not too far behind with a 4:41, but both of these are a remarkable time for the freshman boys.  They have proved they will be the face of the program for the next three years.  It wouldn't surprise me to see them with 3 guys sub 16 this fall at the rate they are improving.

Jackson Cathey also is someone who should be very reliable for North Lincoln this season.  Just a sophomore who still has a lot of development left.  He is better over the longer distances and is someone who is just going to naturally improve the more he matures and should be a reliable top 5 guy for the Knights.  Coley Lippard and Cole Ferraro are two seniors that will look to pick of the slack this season and can make North Lincoln one of the top 3A programs this year.  Both are sub 5 milers from last track season, and Ferraro has a low 17 minute 5K PR from his sophomore season.  The potential is there for North Lincoln to be a great squad this fall.
