Millbrook last year was a two man show with Tucker Cera and Luke Gostling being their star runners for the 2015 season. But last track season their program showed tremendous depth of boys that posted promising times. They got 12 boys under the 5 minute mark during track, with most being sophomores and only one being a senior. Showing that this track season after the top two they have a slew of 9 boys that have proven to be strong runners and will be tremendously competitive to snag the 3-7 spot on Millbrook's roster.
Cera and Gostling flip flopped last season on being the 1 or 2 and are different types of runners. Cera is better at the longer distance stuff where as Gostling has more foot speed holding a 4:23 1600 PR. Cera struggles with the 1600 compared to longer events, but proved he still was in great shape last track season with a 9:32 3200 time. These two will lead a young Millbrook team and will be relied on heavily to score low points in every major meet they attend.
Beyond the 3-7 listed on the returning rankings they have a lot of boys looking to prove themselves on the XC course. A lot of these guys were underclassman last season and could have tremendous turnover since getting more experience and another full year of running under their belt. with 9 guys with PRs withing 20 seconds of each other it is near impossible to predict who will be in the top 7 for them.. But that will be the fun part to watch of this Millbrook team. With the fight to finish in the top 7 every meet so you can travel with the varsity squad it'll help the team tremendously and the times will get to where they need to be at the end of the season.
