Isaiah Hanna made his debut as a runner in middle school with the 400m Dash, although he'll be the first person to tell you he wasn't very good at it. Despite the 1-lap race not being his strong suit at the time, Isaiah has made a name for himself in the middle distances (including the 400m) and has just recently signed with Western Carolina University to continue his career in middle-distance running. Much of the credit for his recent successes and development as a runner and student can be attributed to his parents, who have always instilled in Isaiah the importance of hard work. His parents even served as his coach in his early high school years as the family moved around the country. Once the Hannas ultimately settled down in the Winston-Salem area, Isaiah became a member of the well-known Reagan High School track and cross country teams. Many folks wouldn't expect someone who runs a 53.64 second 400m to run cross country, but Isaiah enjoys the season of 5k running and the family-like team environment that accompanies it. As we get into the "meat" of the outdoor track season, watch for the future Catamount as he continues to quicken his times in his final season as a Reagan Raider.
