Jordan Johnson has track and field in his blood, so it only makes sense that the East Forsyth senior has achieved a level of success in the sport that will take him on to collegiate competition; Jordan's father, who also doubles as on of his coaches, was a jumper at Appalachian State, while his mother was a track Hall-of-Famer for the Mountaineers. The guidance and encouragement of his parents helped him off to an early start in sprints and jumps at the age of 12, but it wasn't until his sophomore year of high school that he truly found his niche. After much hard work and additional training, Jordan began to adopt the long jump as his primary event, though he still takes his triple jumps, 200's, and 400's seriously. With a solid long jump PR of 22'4" at last week's state meet, he's ramping things up for New Balance Indoor Nationals and has set a solid foundation for his final outdoor season of high school.
