2023 3A Midwest Track & Field Championships

Coaches,

On behalf of East Rowan High School and the North Carolina High School Athletic Association, we would like to welcome you to the 2023 NCHSAA Midwest Regional Track and Field Championships.

Congratulations for earning the right to be here.

East Rowan High school is located at 175 St. Lukes Church Rd. Salisbury, NC 28146. We have a 6 lane track that was resurfaced two years ago and our facility allows fans to see the entire meet from the seating area. Admission to this meet will be $7 and can be paid online, which will go live on Monday May 8, or at the gate.

Coaches and athletes will check in upon arrival behind the field house. These gates will open at 7am. We will weigh in implements and pole vaulters starting at 7am and ending at 8:30am. Weigh ins will be at the concession stand behind the scoreboard. NO TENTS in HOME SIDE stands.

Top 4 finishers will advance to the State Championship Meet. Any ties must be broken at this meet. We will NOT ALLOW anyone on the infield that is not actively working the meet or in a coachs box.

We will start the meet at 9am with the 4x800 Relay and the field events. We will start preliminaries at 10am. Finals will start on a rolling schedule at 1pm.

MEET MANAGEMENT

1. GATES OPEN AT 7:00AM

2. Check in will be at the small concession stand behind the scoreboard for ALL EVENTS.

3. Water will be provided by the Novant Athletic Training staff.

4. Rest rooms can be located on either side of the small concession

stand and on either side behind the home seating area.

5. Hip numbers should be placed on athletes RIGHT HIP and be fully visible. If the top is worn out, please place number on the side of the top.

6. Athletes should be checked into their event by 2ND CALL. Athletes will

be marshalled to the start of their event. There will be NO START LINE CHECK INS.

! PLEASE BE AT YOUR EVENT BY SECOND CALL IF POSSIBLE

! RUNNING EVENTS TAKE PRECEDENCE OVER FIELD EVENTS. ATHLETES SHOULD CHECK OUT ON THE 3RD CALL FOR THEIR RUNNING EVENT AND RETURN TO THE FIELD EVENT WITHIN 5 MIN. OF FINISHING THE RUNNING EVENT. HIGH JUMP TAKES PRECEDENCE OVER OTHER FIELD EVENTS.

! DO NOT CROSS THE FLAGS RUNNING PARALLEL TO THE JUMP PIT

! DO NOT CROSS IN FRONT OF THE TENT AREA AT THE FINISH LINE.

! SPRINTERS/HURDLERS BE READY TO RUN YOUR EVENT WHEN THE PREVIOUS EVENT IS OVER, THERE WILL BE NO RUN OUTS AFTER THE STARTER HAS GIVEN INSTRUCTIONS.
