2022 4A East Regional Track & Field Meet Information

Note: The late entry form must be received by the NCHSAA no later than 3pm on Monday, May 10, 2022. A $50 late fee will be assessed for each individual entry. Checks must be made payable to the NCHSAA and received prior to the start of the Regional meet. No entries after this will be accepted.
Gates Open: 9:00AM for teams and 10:00AM for spectators
Coaches Meeting: 10:00 AM in the field house (entrance close to the finish line in the white building with the Vikings sign)
FIELD EVENTS:
11:00 AM
**Implement weigh in and pole inspection will start at 9:45 AM and close at 10:30 AM in the shed outside the fence close to the 300m mark.
*Once weigh in has occurred all implements will remain with staff until throwing events
have begun and they will be brought out to throwing areas for warm-ups.
*All Implements will remain at the event until its full conclusion after finals. (example
Mens discus, Womens shot put, etc.)
**3 jumps & 3 throws top 9 will go to finals
Long Jump: Boys followed by Girls
Triple Jump: Girls followed by Boys
Discus: Boys followed by Girls
Shot Put: Girls followed by Boys
High Jump: Girls followed by Boys OH: (G) 4-6 (B) 5-10
Pole Vault: Boys followed by Girls OH: (B) 9-0 (G) 8-0

AWARDS:
The top three individuals and relays from each event will receive medals from the NCHSAA to be presented at midfield.
The top two teams will receive trophies from the NCHSAA.
The top four are all qualifiers to the State Championship.
MISCELLANEOUS:
*ALL tickets must be purchased through the Gofan.co website under Hoggard High School. No tickets will be sold at the gate.
*BUSES can drop athletes off at the stadium and park in designated parking spots marked with cones or across the street at the shopping center.
*Coaches and athletes must use the gate entrance on the right side (facing the stadium). Packet pick up will be located at this entrance.
*Team camp area is located on the field to the right if you are facing the stadium. There will be no tents allowed inside the stadium.
*Spectators have permission to use the parking lots across the street at the shopping center.
*Spectators must use the gate entrance on the left side (facing the stadium).
*Hoggard High School and the MEC will provide certified athletic trainers onsite during the meet.
*All injuries or medical emergencies should be reported to the athletic trainer. There will be two trainers available at all times. The training room is located in the field house under the Vikings sign.
*Coaches and athletes are not allowed under the timing tent for any reason.
*Coaches are not allowed near the start and finish lines as well as the field event areas unless assisting.
*No headphones, cell phones or other electronic devices are allowed in warm up or competition areas.
*No athlete will compete in more than four (4) events, including relays, for the entire meet.
*Any protests should be filed with the meet referee..
*Protests will be judged by the games committee, which will consist of five head coaches (one from each conference) and the meet referee.
*The protest period will be within 15 minutes after the posting of final results.
*ALL ATHLETES must follow the NCHSAA uniform rules.
*Uniform and spike checks will be done at check in. Athletes will receive zip ties for approved spikes to be put on laces.
*Shot Put and Discus are located behind the shed in the back field.
*Rings are closed until official warm-ups begin and staff is present for safety
*No throwing of implements in nearby fields (warm-ups will only occur in the designated
throws areas)
*High Jump is located at the 150m mark on the infield.
*All other jumps are located behind the visitors bleachers outside the fence.
*All field event athletes should check in at their event site no later than 10 minutes prior to the start of their competition.
*No athletes should be in the infield unless they are competing; this can result in disqualification.
*Check-In will be located past the finish line on the outside of the fence under the navy canopy.
*Hip numbers will be worn on the left hip for lane races. All other races will wear numbers on the left hip and left chest.
*Athletes should know the order of events and not depend solely on calls before they check in.
*All schools should come prepared to have coaches assist in some capacity.
*Coaches hospitality provided in the fieldhouse.
*Concessions available-CASH ONLY
*T-shirts will be for sale ($20.00) at the team entrance on the right side of the stadium. Cash and checks made payable to Marketing Special Promotions. NO CARDS ACCEPTED
