3rd Annual NCRunners MIDDLE SCHOOL ELITE INVITATIONAL-Saturday, April 25th
POSTPONED - We have postponed our event for 2020 due to COVID-19. REGISTRATION - Online registration will close on Monday, April 20th at Midnight. We will release accepted entries on Tuesday. We will have more entries than what is accepted in some events, so make sure you're getting results in so your athletes have seed times. Athletes entered without a seed mark will be not be accepted if the entries exceed the max entries in the event listed below.
MEET SCHEDULE - TENTATIVE
Gates open for early arrival at 7:45am
Coaches report to finishing tent at 8:20amsharp for instructions, and to report scratches and necessary relay changes;no individual additions
Volunteer meeting to review assignments at 8:30am
First Race at 10:00am- rolling schedule thereafter
Field Start at 10:00am- open pit style, events will be open to entered girls/boys from10am - 1pm; athletes complete events as they are able.
NEW FOR 2019 - We've previously only run finals for the first two NCRunners Middle School Elite meets. This year we'll run prelims for the 100m Dash and 100m Hurdles. They'll take place before the 4x800m Relay with finals going on after to ensure the top 8 kids face off in the final section.
ORDER OF RUNNING EVENTS/ESTIMATED SCHEDULE- will follow standard high school order of events (boys first in each event for hurdle setup efficiency). Following is the estimated schedule, though we will following a rolling schedule, so events may occur sooner or later than estimated:

ENTRIES - For the 100m Dash, 100m Hurdles, 200m Dash, 300m Hurdles and 400m Dash we will limit to top 56 entries, or 7 heats. For the distance events we will accept the top 50 events. For field events we will accept the top 35 events. Relays entries will not have a limit other than one per school. Athletes will be able to compete in a max of 4 events from Relays to Field Events to Individual Track Events.
FIELD EVENT SCHEDULE- we will use an "open pit" for field events. Each will be open continuously for 3-hours, from10AM-1PM; athletes complete events between running events
POLE VAULT- The pole vault contest for the NCRunners Middle School Elite Invitational will be held at Pole Vault Carolina in Durham, NC on TBD. Warm-ups will begin at 9 a.m., and the competition will start at noon. All poles will be provided. No additional fees will be charged. Come out and pole vault in an encouraging environment! This will give Middle School athletes around the state the opportunity to qualify for New Balance Outdoor Nationals. The Pole Vault will be an exhibition event and will not contribute points towards our team scores.GATE FEES/CONCESSIONS- athletes/coaches admitted free. Spectator gate fee is $5 for adults, $1 for students. Concessions will be open throughout the meet
MEET T-SHIRTS- Fine Designs will sell event t-shirts on-site
AWARDS- Team trophies to the Team Champion and Runner-Up, medals to individual and relay champion in each event
