Photo by John Olson of https://sc.milesplit.com After being dealt a defeat last year at Wendy's Invitational to eventual Footlocker South champion Ryan Hill from Hickory NC, Abingdon senior Griff Graves returned the favor on Hill this past Saturday at McAlpine Greenway Park in Charlotte with a 15:09 victory at the Wendy's Invite. Graves finished 11 seconds ahead of Hill in the 3A race with the fastest time of the meet and also came away with the fastest 5K time this fall by a Virginian. Meanwhile, Peter Dorrell competed later in the day as the temperatures continued to rise into the afternoon for the junior and senior boys individual race as the Blacksburg senior won easily with no other runners breaking 17 minutes in the race. A winner at Maymont over Graves last weekend, Dorrell was far off the top time posted by Graves earlier with a 15:48 win. Griff Graves Video Interview @ Wendy's Invite by John Olson
