Dana Wilson Clocks NC No. 3 All-Time 100m Dash At NCISAA DII

Greensboro Day School junior Dana Wilson set a new personal best of 11.26 (-0.1) on a wet track on Friday at the NCISAA Division II State Championships.

Wilson opened her outdoor season at Raleigh Relays where she ran a wind aided 11.37 (+3.3) and had run 11.55 to win the All-American Track Classic and 11.49 at a Greensboro Day Home Meet.  

Indoors she was the adidas Track Nationals Runner-Up in the 60m Dash running 7.41 with a 6.94 en route 55m Dash.

In rainy conditions yesterday at UNC Asheville her top mark of her career came together and she threw down a wind legal 11.26 to win the NCISAA Division II Championship. She advanced to the finals with the fastest preliminary mark of 11.56. 

The mark is the fastest ever by an NCISAA athlete regardless of Division, a current US#5, and NC#3 All-Time Outdoors under legal wind as well as all-conditions!  Gabrielle Mayo below holds a wind legal 11.16 in addition to her 11.14 listed with +5.4 wind.

Wilson would double back yesterday in the 200m running a new personal best of 23.24 (-1.0) as well good for NC#5 All-Time, #4 All-Time under legal wind conditions.  It is currently US#12 so far on the season.

Only a junior and still with a postseason to go, Wilson very well could continue to climb these ranks over the next 14 months of her high school career.
