Five Takeaways From Providence Cross Country Invitational

Watch Out For Ardrey Kell

Connecticut transfer Patrick Gibbons made his anticipated debut for Ardrey Kell at the Providence Invitational and did not disappoint. The senior placed 3rd overall and clocked 15:57 going down to the wire with South Central's Elliott Kleckner and Lake Norman's Gavin Sweeney.

It was a huge performance from Raghav Gopalakrishnan! The sophomore took over 45 seconds off his personal best from last season and earned a 6th place finish! He ran 16:01 and was less than a half second off 5th place.

They finished 4th overall as a team with 117 points.

Ardrey Kell is a young team, as Gibbons is their only senior in their top five. Sophomore Nicholas Grace was 14th and freshman Joey Wells was 33rd. If their 5-6-7 can work together and chop off some time they can be a serious threat at the state meet. Their 5-6-7 were within four seconds of each other, but over a minute behind their No. 5.
