Five Takeaways From Providence Cross Country Invitational

Hannah Rae Shaffer Is Going To Be (If Not Already) a Star

The freshman from Cardinal Gibbons is not new to the running scene by any means. Hannah Rae Shaffer already holds personal bests of 2:17 in the 800m, 5:06 in the 1600m, and 11:28 in the full two mile.

She finished runner-up at the Providence Invitational clocking 18:26. The winner, Hannah Vroon, is from South Carolina so Shaffer was the top runner from North Carolina.

Shaffer holds a 4000m personal best of 13:35, which would equate to 17:12 if she could hold that pace for another 1000m.

18:26 is a fantastic debut for Shaffer, as she took down some of the more notable names in North Carolina!
