Boys 400m

You know this will be fast race when a sub 50 regional performances doesn't make the fast heat at the state meet. Nathan Leacock ran 49.38 to win 4A East over Quaid Sutherland (Hoggard). In the 4A Mideast, Andrew Nixon (Athens Drive) ran 49.95 and finished 5th, outside of the state meet qualifiers. That is the definition of the death region. Ha'Mir Hampton (Hillside) won 4A Mideast in 48.82 with Richard Billings (Jack Britt) 2nd, Elias Barton (Middle Creek) 3rd, and Nathan Flexman (Cary) 4th. Caleb Watlington (Page) took 4A Midwest in 49.28 with Hickory Ridge's Jaylin Milton-Hall runner-up in 49.56. In 4A West Jamier Moten (Ardrey Kell) and Amon Ellis (Olympic) each broke 49.00 but Moten was victorious.
