Micah Larry (Rolesville) ran a NC 4A No. 1 time this season of 10.69 during his win at the 4A East Regional. His teammate Zemir McKoy was runner-up in 10.78. Nathan Leacock (Millbrook) was third in 10.88. Jadarien Parker (Hoke) won the 4A Mideast in 10.72 over South Garner's Josh Gayton who ran 10.99. Tazhae Woods took a millisecond victory over his Reagan teammate Sanchez Redden at 4A Midwest, 10.80 to 10.81. David Lampkin (Mallard Creek) ran away with the 4A West going 10.70.
Mallard Creek's David Lampkin had the fastest time coming out of the weekend at 21.45 to win 4A West. Ardrey Kell's Michael Koepke was right behind in 21.73. Micah Larry completed the 100m/200m double at 4A East running 22.13 to take the win. Jadarien Parker also completed the double taking 4A Mideast in 21.49. Like Parker and Larry, Tazhae Woods took the double at 4A Midwest clocking 21.79. West Forsyth's Don Robinson was right behind in 21.84.
You know this will be fast race when a sub 50 regional performances doesn't make the fast heat at the state meet. Nathan Leacock ran 49.38 to win 4A East over Quaid Sutherland (Hoggard). In the 4A Mideast, Andrew Nixon (Athens Drive) ran 49.95 and finished 5th, outside of the state meet qualifiers. That is the definition of the death region. Ha'Mir Hampton (Hillside) won 4A Mideast in 48.82 with Richard Billings (Jack Britt) 2nd, Elias Barton (Middle Creek) 3rd, and Nathan Flexman (Cary) 4th. Caleb Watlington (Page) took 4A Midwest in 49.28 with Hickory Ridge's Jaylin Milton-Hall runner-up in 49.56. In 4A West Jamier Moten (Ardrey Kell) and Amon Ellis (Olympic) each broke 49.00 but Moten was victorious.
