Last season's NCISAA 4A runner-ups are back in 2020 ready to make the final push to the top of NCISAA. Thuc Dzu is ready for her senior season and will try to claim an All-State spot on the way. Phoebe Ellison is the other senior in this Cary Academy top five and has to show great leadership to an otherwise young team. Ellison will be pushing Elise Boyse and Jenna Pullen as the try and run as close to Dzu as they can. Boyse was 14th at the State Meet last season finishing as Cary Academy's #2 and only two spots behind Dzu. Pullen and Ellison managed to both place in the top 30 in the State Meet last season. Dzu had a good start to the season as she won the virtual 3200m Cary Academy Meet in early September where she ran 12:29. Pullen was only seven seconds behind Dzu finishing 2nd in 12:36. Laney Bundy is a sophomore and will likely be Cary Academy's #5 this season. Like their boys counterpart, Cary Academy comes in at #2 in these rankings but certainly capable of walking away from their State Meet victorious.
