Carson Williams Edges JJ Malach In 1600m
One of the more exciting races of the day was JJ Malach (Broughton) trying to outlast the field in the boys 1600m. Through the 800m slower than most would like in around 2:16 Malach decided to take over the pace. He put a gap on the field as no one went with him. Carson Williams (Cardinal Gibbons) and Preston Jones (Leesville Road) remained in striking distance. Over the final 400m Williams began to slowly start to reel in Malach. Down the home stretch Williams swung wide and edged Malach through the line in 4:25.18 to 4:25.47.
