Kayla Davis In The 200m & 400m
It's safe to say Kayla Davis (Run U Xpress) has put herself on the map this indoor season as a freshman. Davis currently sits at US#1 in both the 300m and the 500m with times of 37.92 and 1:11.90. This weekend will be her biggest test to date. Over her career just one girl has challenged her and that is Tamari Davis (FL) who she'll go against in the 200m. Tamari holds a 200m PR Outdoors of 22.48. In both the 200m and 400m she'll face off against Arria Minor (CO) who holds PRs outdoors of 22.89 and 51.92. Kayla holds PRs of 23.34 and 52.54 from middle school. If we thought her solo 300s and 500s this season were fast, imagine what she'll be able to do this weekend with competition on a banked track!
The North Carolina State Records will be in jeopardy with Anna Cockrell's (Providence Day) 23.47 from 2016 and Ariah Graham's (Wakefield) 53.95 from 2012.
