Catching Up With NC's Pro Athletes: Early Track Results

St. Augustine's graduate Bershawn "Bat Man" Jackson leads the world in the 400 Hurdles, just one of many NC high school and/or college grads that are succeeding in national and international competition.

It has been a while since we checked in on all of NC's professional track athletes, so below is a summary of their performances since April 1st. This list includes athletes that went to either high school or college in our state (and some did both!). The report also includes current collegians who are competing unattached. Of particular note are the following illustrious alumni of North Carolina educational institutions:

  • Bershawn Jackson (St. Augustine's University): 48.09 World #1 400 Hurdles
  • Johnny Dutch (Clayton HS): 48.13 World #2 400 Hurdles
  • Shannon Rowbury (Duke University): 4:02.28 World #11 1500 Meters
  • Ryan Hill (Hickory/NC State University): 13:15.92 World #19 5000 Meters
  • Shermaine Williams (Johnson C. Smith): 12.87 World #24 100 Hurdles
