NC runners compete at New Balance Collegiate

LaMarr Davis of East Wake ran his first 1000m run of the season and threw down the 3rd fastest time ever run by a North Carolina athlete. LaMarr ran 2:31.13 at the NY Armory, which many say isn't a great place to run.

With LaMarr's time, North Carolina has the #2 and #3 all-time fastest runners at the 1000m distance this season. Dylan Ferris ran 2:30.91 to win at Virginia Tech. They both trail Brad Carter of Reidsville who ran 2:28.04 way back in 1990.

Trenton Guy Jr of West Charlotte and Antonio Sales of East Chapel Hill both competed in the 300m. They represented NC well as Trenton placed 2nd behind US #1, Sean Holston, and Antonio finished 4th. Neither ran PR's for the season, but this track is very different than Virginia Tech and Chapel Hill, where they ran season PR's.

Trenton is ranked #2 all-time and Antonio #14 all-time in NC history. Sean Holston of Virginia, ran yet another US #1 as he blazed to a 33.21. Also, Virginia, Axel Mostrag, ran a new US #1 as he won the 1000m run in 2:26.11.

And . . . on a personal note. John Compton of Wake Forest, former Providence Day runner, ran a personal best and ACC #2 so far this season in the 5000m. He ran 14:45.68 and won the Men's College race.
