NCHSAA 4A State Championship Meet Preview

Girls Team

Panther Creek has projected points all over the board for a predicted score of 68. Their biggest threat is Morgan Smalls, who is the favorite in all three jumping events to contribute 30 points. Only six other entire teams are projected to score as many points as Smalls is individually. Projected points in every relay also give them room to score big on Saturday.

Southeast Raleigh has Sierra Fletcher, who is favored to contribute 20 points herself in the hurdle events, and Kyna Robinson who is projected to score 16 in the 200 and 400. That, along with a top ranked 4x100 team, establish Southeast Raleigh as the next biggest threat.

The next three teams in the virtual meet are separated by just one point. Mallard Creek, West Forsyth and Providence all have an array of scoring threats. An exciting possibility is that all three stand to pick up at least a point in the 4x400 to end the day, with Providence favored to score ten. This could lead to an exciting cap to events.

Ronald Reagan and Leesville Road also have a chance for a podium finish. Reagan will look for distance dominance from Ainsley Cooper, Spencer Faircloth and Gwen Parks as well as their 4x800 team for the vast majority of their points, whereas Leesville Road will be looking off the track as more than half of their points are projected in the throws and pole vault.
