Online Registration Instructions
Get ready for the 2nd Annual Fightertown XC Invitational! The name "Fightertown" is a tribute to the military aviation community at nearby Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point. The event takes place on the Havelock High School campus. All races feature a stadium start and finish! Thanks to our generous sponsors, 122 individual medals will be awarded on race day!
***This year, we are replacing the freshman 3K race with a Middle School 3K race!***
The first 26 high school teams registered are guaranteed a spot, others are waitlisted (no limit for middle school teams). The event is also open to unattached/individuals. Last year's event featured 22 teams and more than 450 athletes!!! Come join us in 2026!
Race Day Timeline:
- 6:30AM Gates Open/Race packet pick-up begins, @ tent near finish line
- 8:10AM National Anthem
- 8:12AM Boys & Girls Middle School 3K Race (grade 6-8 boys/girls run concurrently, scored separately)
Note: If we get a significant number of Middle Schoolers registered, we will adjust the schedule and run boys/girls separately.
- 8:45AM Girls JV 4K Race (unlimited - grade 9-12)
- 9:20AM Boys JV 4K Race (unlimited - grade 9-12)
- 9:45AM Girls Varsity 5K Race (limit 10 per team - grade 9-12)
- 10:20AM Boys Varsity 5K Race (limit 10 per team - grade 9-12)
Location: Havelock HS, 101 Webb Blvd, Havelock, NC 28532
Race Entry Fee: $50 per high school team (both genders, unlimited entry), $25 per middle school team (both genders, unlimited entry), and $5 per unattached/individual.
K-12 schools entering both middle and high school teams only owe the high school $50 entry fee. The same applies to non K-12 schools, if the high school coach also coaches the middle school team.
Race entry must be paid via cash or check payable to Havelock High School. Unattached/Individuals also have the option to pay via GoFan at the gate on race day. Payment due on race day!
Spectator: $5 entry fee (kids 12 and under are free). Tickets may be purchased via GoFan or with cash at the gate on race day.
Individual Awards: Top 20 finishers in ALL RACES (MS, JV, Varsity) receive medals at the finish line.
Team Awards: The winning Middle School and High School (Varsity Race) Boys and Girls team(s) will receive free meet entry for the 2027 meet for their entire team! (2025 Winners were Croatan HS and West Carteret HS and they will receive free entry this year!)
Pull-Up and Deadlift Competitions: Marine Corps Recruiting will be at the meet and hosting a pull-up competition again this year. U.S. Army recruiters will also be joining us and will host a deadlift competition. Individual medals will be presented approx. 15-20 minutes after the Boys Varsity Race finish to the boy and girl who completes the most pull-ups (in a single attempt) and the boy and girl with the max deadlift on race day! Pull-up and Deadlift competitions are open to any high schoolers in attendance on meet day, whether or not they are competing in cross country races.
Results: Via Milesplit Live approx. 15-20 minutes after each race.
