Course Info:

This course doesn't favor any single runner type, instead complementing a runner who can do a little bit of everything. No PR's will be set, but a new course record just might!

Course Breakdown:

Mile 0 - 0.7: We kick things off with a short sprint through the parking lot before hitting a long, fast grass section, the perfect place to settle in and find your rhythm. A few turns and a short, punchy hill take you up and over the baseball field, leading you to the first big shift in terrain.

Mile 0.7 - 1.8: Get ready, trail runners! This is where you can make your move. The course turns technical, with a series of quick ups and downs along a winding single-track trail in the woods. You'll catch a brief glimpse of the lake before the trail flattens out to run alongside a serene creek.

Mile 1.8 - 2.2: The trail ends with a few stone stairs that lead you back to the road. This section is a flat, fast mix of pavement or grass as you head towards Valdese Park.

Mile 2.2 - 2.6: Next you'll fly along the greenway before moving to a service road, setting you up for the final push.

Mile 2.6 - 3.1: Save something in the tank for the longest climb of the course, a steady ascent up the pavement toward the school. Just when you think you're done, the course throws one last gut punch at you: a grassy, uphill climb. The final stretch is flat around the practice field, leading you back to the finish line on the track.

*Course will be marked with flags, tapes, and signs at all intersections. Spikes are STRONGLY discouraged.
