SPECTATOR NOTES:

Parking: Spectators may use the Main Entrance of Hyw 15-501 and use the student parking lot.

The Parking Lot in front of the gym is for team Buses or Vans. No private vehicles will be allowed in the GYM Parking Lot. All spectators and athletes driving themselves will need to park in the Student Parking Lot. There will be a designated area for handicapped parking in the Student Parking Lot

ADMISSION: The cost of admission is $8.00 and includes the handling fees. Tickets must be purchased using the Pinecrest Gofan.com .

Wristbands will be given at the stadium entrance so spectators will be permitted to leave the meet and return. They must be worn.

Seating: Tents and umbrellas are NOT permitted in the HOME side bleachers.

Concessions and Restrooms: Sandwiches, pizza, and various snacks and drinks will be available for purchase, including fresh fruit, power bars, and Gatorade. Our concession stand and restrooms are located behind the Scoreboard. Cash or credit cards are accepted.

NOTE: Reminders

Jumping the fence around the TRACK is NOT permitted. Ant individual that is caught jumping the fence will be dismissed from the stadium.

Please remind your athletes to either bring money or their own food and drink to keep them hydrated and fueled throughout the day.

Please take care of your trash and leave the any as you found it. A trash bag has beeh provided in your packet for use and there are several trash cans throughout the stadium.

T-Shirts: 2024 NCHSAA 4A Mideast Regional Meet shirts will be available for purchase at the concession Stand. Cash, credit card, or check (payable to Market Special Promotions) will be accepted.

Coach/Athlete Information

Sanction: North Carolina High School Athletic Association (NCHSAA/NFHS)

Meet Host: Pinecrest High School

Facilities:

8 lane equidistant 400m track w/ Beynon mat system competition surface. 2 horizontal jump pits, pits are 9ft x 23ft w/ 150 Ft. runways.

No Cell Phones or other unapproved electronic devices are allowed in any competition area,

Including check-in.

Team tents will not be allowed in the HOME side of the stands.

Athletes may warm up in designated areas on campus.

All Horizontal Jump and Throws will have 3 attempts, top 9 will go to finals and get 3 additional.

Spikes are limited to 1/4 inch pyramid spikes, or no spikes at all. This will be strickly enforced.

Awards

Medals for the TOP three individuals and relay teams (TOP 4 individuals/relay teams qualify for State).

Plaques for the Top two overall teams.

Coaches Hospitality

We will have hospitality located in te fieldhouse. Coaches, Officials, and volunteers who are wearing wristbands can come and enjoy food and refreshments throughout the day.

Rules Rules referenced in the 2024 NFHS will be strickly adhered to

Please make sure your athletes are in the proper uniform. Athletes uniforms will be checked for

compliance at the clerking tent. We do not want to disqualify an anthlete for a uniform violation but

they will look for violations at the State Meet so we want everyone to be accustomed to that process at

the Regional Meet.

Protest

All protests must be filled within 30 minutes of the posting of the results of the event. Please review

Rule 3-5 of the current rulebook, as this covers some of the situations that are eligible and nor eligible to

Protest. All coaches must abide by the NFHS rules and any supplemental policies or risk disqualification

of an athlete or their team.

Packet Pick-up

Packet pick-up will be at the entrance to the BASEBALL STADIUM adjacent to the bus parking lot, starting

at 8:00 am; officials meeting at 8:45 in the fieldhouse; coaches meeting at 9:00 am. All teams arriving together MUST enter here.

Athlete/ Coach Admissions

All athletes and coaches will be issued wristbands and must have those on at all times to access the facility. We understand that you may have athletes arriving later in the day if they are competing in the afternoon events. They should enter through the spectator entrance, but please have someone there to meet those athletes with a wristband.

Weigh-in and implement Inspection- Fieldhouse

Pole-vaulters can weigh in between 8:15 and 9:15 am with the head Pole Vault official. Throwers can weigh their implements at that time as well.

Infield Access

The infield is completely closed except for working credentialed officials and athletes who are about to compete. Athletes in running events who are about to compete will have access to the designated infield staging area where they may change down to race-ready attire and be escorted to the start of their event.

Immediately after their event, athletes who place in the top four will be recognized at the podium. All other athletes must return to the staging area to retrieve their belongings and exit the track where they entered.

Athlete Check-in

Running event athletes must check in for their event(s) at the Green Tent outside the track in turn 2 where they will be issued a chest number. Competitors may report to the infield staging area no earlier than the first call for their event. In the case o field events, the competitor must report to the field judge in charge of the event where that event is contested. Track events take precedence over field events. However, you must report to the field judge first and request permission to be excused. If an athlete is not checked in and ready to move to the track by the final call, they will be scratched.

We will have open check-in throughout the meet for running events, so athletes can check in at any time prior to 2nd call. Athletes should be at their staging area by the final. It is their responsibility to be mindful of the time schedule and report at the correct time. Athletes in the 4x100 and 4x200 relays will report to the staging area as a team and will be directed to their zones for their events.

Note: All athletes (field or track) must enter near the Track Check-In Area and may only exit where they entered.

Track Warm-up Access

The track is open for warming up from the 8:00 am until 9:45 am.

Warm-Up Areas Athletes can use the school campus for warming up or the designated staging area of the infield if within approximately 30 minutes of their event.

Team Tents Team Tents will not be allowed in the Home Side Stand.

Athletic Trainer We will have an Athletic Trainer available on site to provide ice. Teams will need to bring a First Aid kit, along with their own athletic tape and pre-wrap.

Format for Distance Events The 4x800, 800, 1600, and 3200 will be run as a one-turn stagger, with the athletes breaking past the break line on the backstretch. Top seeds will be placed in the inner lanes and then we will work outward as with the events run entirely in lanes.

Performance Limits Starting height in the HJ & PV are being determined after entries are closed and will be posted in advance of the meet.
