THE BLUE RIDGE CLASSIC - WNC's Elite Meet!
The Blue Ridge Classic returns with its 19th edition on April 22, 2023.
Due to the construction of a new track at AC Reynolds HS, this year's Blue Ridge Classic will be held at North Buncombe High School, with the same high standard of hospitality and competition.
The Blue Ridge Classic has earned a well-deserved reputation as one of the best run and most competitive meets in the south, offering superior support for athletes and coaches including staging and venue tents for athlete comfort, trainer and medical support by Pardee Sports Medicine, modern bathroom facilities, and an onsite track & field store.
MEET SCHEDULE (will be finalized after close of entries)
Updated to reflect move to Friday - we will revert to a regular schedule with the 3200 as final individual event.
Tentative plan for Friday - final schedule will be posted Thursday morning.
3:00 pm - begin field events - long jump, girls high jump, girls pole vault, boys shot put, girls discus
3:30pm - 4x800 - girls, then boys
4:30pm - begin individual running events (note: current plan is straight finals, but we will evaluate whether to run heats in the 100 and straight hurdles based on the number of entries)
Famous Hospitality: Known also for its extraordinary coaches hospitality, breakfast and lunch for coaches at the BRC is provided by over 15 local restaurants, including Asheville's nationally famous BBQ restaurant 12 Bones Smokehouse, Outback Steakhouse and Bojangles.
ENTRY FEE: $100 per single gender team, $150 for both male & female teams together, or $10.00 per individual event. No unattached athletes may enter the meet. An athlete must be entered as a member of a high school team, and eligible for HS competition according to their state sanctioning body. Athletes who first entered ninth-grade prior to July 1, 2019 are not eligible to compete regardless of current scholastic status.

BLUE RIDGE CLASSIC MIDDLE SCHOOL EVENTS. The middle school events will not be held in 2023. They will return for 2024.
