West Meck will have volunteers/assistants in place to help in areas as needed.


Relay Zones and Hurdle Crew - ANYONE & EVERYONE

Tents may be set up on either side of the stadium, but do not use the first few rows on the side of the finish line. Coaches, please encourage your athletes to place trash and used hip numbers in the proper receptacles.

West Meck's Carolinas HealthCare System trainer will be onsite during the competition. Schools not traveling with a trainer should send supplies, such as tape and pre-wrap, as we will have limited quantities of those supplies. All injuries or medical emergencies should be reported to the athletic trainer.

Coaches and athletes are not allowed under the timing tent without permission.

No headphones, cell phones or other electronic devices are allowed in competition areas.

Any protests should be filed with the meet director.

Protests will be judged by the games committee, which will consist of the head coaches and the meet director.

The protest period will be within 15 minutes after the posting of final results.

ALL ATHLETES MUST CONFORM TO THE NCHSAA UNIFORM RULES. VIOLATIONS WILL BE ENFORCED !



Athlete Procedures


All field event athletes should check in at their event site no later than 10 minutes prior to the start of their competition.

  • Shot Put and Discus are located on the softball field which is located in the fenced in area across from the tennis courts..
  • Long/Triple jump pits are located on the opposite side of the fence near the finish line.

  • Pole Vault is in the infield near the 100/200 meter start.
  • Starting heights will be determined at coaches meeting.
  • No athletes should be in the infield unless they are competing. Warm ups are designated on ONE side of the football field.
  • NO ATHLETE should be warming up or lounging near the timers, check in table, or medals table.

    Check-In will be at midfield.

    Hip numbers will be worn on the left hip for lane races. All other races will wear numbers on the left hip and left chest.

    ATHLETES SHOULD KNOW THE ORDER OF EVENTS, CHECK-IN ON TIME, AND NOT RELY ON ANNOUNCEMENTS. STARTER WILL NOT WAIT FOR ATHLETES TO GET READY.
    MEDALS AWARDED TO TOP THREE IN ALL EVENTS !
