With the new rules, it seems that our State is adversarial to kids attending the High School nationals. Why?

What is the new rule? How can the NCHSAA stop them if they are competing unattached?

@clonghurst Exactly right, Craig. They have had to refrain from wearing their school uniforms in both New Balance Indoor and Outdoor Nationals for years per NCHSAA.

From my experience last year over 75% of the kids there are representing their state and schools at the meet. Unfortunately for the top talent in this state the NCHSAA still operates under the assumption that state championships in track and field actually mean something when in reality nationals is the gold standard for high school athletes wanting to run at the next level. If an athlete has the ability to run at that level the NCHSAA should support them and allow them to represent their schools especially if they meet a national standard while running for their school during the season.
